Personal illustration of an elephant carrying an Indian princess and mahout on its strong back. An automatic doodle inspired by Mughal miniatures of elegant courtesans in gauzy silks, dripping in jewels and flowers, of embellished palaquins and draps, of jumping monkey spirits and jungle scents.
I started the A3 sized drawing in july 2019 and finished the ink outlines in 2024. The colored version is in progress.
